First Stainless Steel Coach completely assembled at Indira

A complete coach of the heritage Nilgiri Metro Rail (NMR) has been assembled at Indira and supplied to the Integral Coach Factory.

The Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) is a 1,000 mm metre gauge railway in Tamilnadu built by the British in 1908. The Railway is operated by the Southern Railway and is the only rack railway in India.

Indira has secured the prestigious project of supplying 15 assembled NMR shells to the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai.

Work is currently progressing on manufacturing the coaches.
